A Few Books You Might Like

My Bookshelf is the list of books that I love, some of which are literally on the bookshelf in my bedroom.

I will update it as more books pile up on my bookshelf

I hope you read through this and look them all up!

The Bible
Men taught by the Holy Spirit
Best. Book. Ever. No number of stars would be enough for the Word of God.

Harry Potter
J.K. Rowling
I'll give the entire series 5 stars. They're all magnificent! Magic spells, daring sword fights, and a prince in disguise!

Warriors
Erin Hunter
I love, love, love, LOVE this series! I give 5 stars to each volume!

Percy Jackson and the Olympians
Rick Riordan
I've read the entire first volume, and most of the second volume, and it's wonderful! 5 stars!

Mandie
Lois Gladys Leppard
I love the Mandie series! I'll always give Mrs. Leppard the credit for sparking my adoration for mystery series. I give it 4 and 1/2 stars.

Goosebumps
R.L. Stine
I like some of these more than others, and some i find flat out ridiculous; but, over all, i shall still give the series 4 stars because i still love them.

Allie Finkle's Rules for Girls
Meg Cabot
Even if this book series is about a 4th grader, I love reading about her daily life and crazy brothers. Plus, the "rules" actually come in handy :)

Dear America
Scholastic (it's by various authors, and the book series is owned by Scholastic)
I love Historical Fiction, and this series rocks at it! Along with its "cousins", Royal Diaries and My Name Is America, are really interesting and full of historical facts. The kids who "write" in the diaries range in time lines, and genders, as well as religions. It helped me understand a few religions I was curious about. I give it 4 and 1/2 stars.

Seekers
Erin Hunter
Another fabulous animal series by Erin Hunter. I love bears--when I was younger it was my deepest desire to own one as a pet--and this series really makes it seem like bears are telling it. I give it 4 stars (it would have more if they didn't kill off one of the main characters in the end).

The Last Dogs
Christopher Holt
I loved it so much!!! Wonderful story! Very action packed! It's humorous and suspenseful as well. Plus, it's about dogs :D!!!

While the World Watched
Carolyn Maull McKinstry
This is sort of an Autobiography, but it's during the 1960's from an african-american's POV. It's a wonderful read, I strongly recommend it.

Tuck Everlasting
Natalie Babbitt
This is a wonderful story about a girl--Winnie--who meets a family of immortals--the Tucks. I find the ending sad, but it's still a fun read.

The Wide-Awake Princess
E.D. Baker
This is the story of Sleeping Beauty... but, not as we've heard it. It's from Annie's point of view... Annie being Sleeping Beauty's younger sister, who magic doesn't work on. She goes on a grand adventure with Liam--a guard, who has a secret--to try and break the evil fairy's curse.

Halfway to the Sky
Kimberly Brubaker Bradley
This is basically a fictional hiking log of a girl named Katahdin. It has cute moments, factoid moments, funny moments, and sad moments. It's a great read, but I would recommend you be at least 11 before you read it (there are a few bad words).

Joni's Story
Joni Eareckson-Tada
This is a made-for-kids autobiography about a christian who, in a diving accident, gets paralyzed from the chest down. Wonderful read, and safe for all ages!

  1. You should read the Artemis Fowl series!! It's about a boy named, duh, Artemis Fowl who is a criminal genius, aged 12, his bodyguard, Butler, and a civilization under the world. Specifically LEPRecon Captain Holly Short, an elf. In the first book he's technically a bad guy, but a main plot is his growing decency and general coolness. I would give it 5 stars. 6, if someone-I-won't-name-here didn't die and break my heart and if the 6th book had Minerva in it.

  2. I also think you should read The Princess Bride! It's funny and serious-it broke my heart and mended it again. Fezzik, Inigo Montoya (fave character), Wesley, Buttercup, Prince Humperdink, they all form a unique plot line that simply amazes me. It made me laugh, cry, and ultimately die when the book finished, because there was no more to read.

    3. The Princess Bride is one of my favorite books. I am hunting down a fabled t-shirt that has a name tag that says: Hello, My Name Is: Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.
Also on the list you rated it 0 stars and I was like, GASP!

    4. On Pinterest, I once saw a picture that my mom pinned. It showed Inigo with a short and the caption said, "Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You gave me decaf. Prepare to die."
And, seeing as I was just having to go back to decaf coffee after drinking caffeinated coffee for so long, that got me laughing out loud!
