Beautiful People--June 2017 Edition

Hello and howdy to all those reading!

I'm back for another edition of Beautiful People (created by super bloggers Cait and Sky, check them out, if you please).

The Beautiful People posts are for characters of mine which I created for stories which I thought up and have not published. Here’s a quote from Cait’s blog explaining it a bit more; “Beautiful People is a writing blog meme which I co-host with the marvelous Sky @ Further Up and Further. We post questions at the beginning of each month (generally around the 5th) that you can answer on your own blogs! It’s designed to (A) help you get to know your characters better, and (B) share with us about your writing projects!”

I'll be writing for Mei and Balantér, characters from the same story as previous Beautiful People star Aleksandr. Mei is Aleksandr’s one and only, while Balantér is Aleksandr’s archnemesis.

What’s their favorite place they’ve ever visited?
Mei went to Italy once and thought it was pretty neat. Balantér wouldn't be able to decide. With a big grin he'd say, “after all, they were all so terribly dreadful.”

What’s one mistake they made that they learned from?
Mei trusted people a bit too willingly as a kid and learned from her mistakes as she got older, which helps her a lot, since she is in fact going to marry a mob boss.
Balantér doesn't really learn from his mistakes. He just makes more mistakes to cover up his mistakes.

What was their favorite subject in school? Or favorite thing to learn about?
Mei loved studying psychology, were as Balantér was more into the fine arts--literature, music, and art.

What’s their favorite flower/growing thing?
Hibiscus flowers for Mei, and sequoias for Balantér.

Have they ever made someone cry? What happened?
Probably. Mei was a psychiatrist for awhile, so she asked questions that may have triggered emotional responses.
Balantér is the baddest of the bad, he makes numerous people cry on a day-to-day basis solely due to his existing.

Would you consider them a reliable or unreliable narrator?
Mei, definitely reliable. Balantér, unreliable to a point.

What do they dream about at night?
Mei doesn't dream much (that's actually a key detail of the story, when she does have a dream it's an unusual event).
Balantér probably dreams about having a normal life and wakes up and goes “gee what a nightmare!”

They’ve gone out for a “special meal.” What would they eat?
Chinese food, but not a buffet, an actual Chinese restaurant.
Steak, medium rare, with a side of the most expensive thing on the menu.

What’s at least one thing they want to do before they die?
Mei wants to be a mom, either biologically or through adoption. Balantér wants to have a wine named after him.

Do they have any distinguishing or unique talents?
Mei’s rather good at juggling. Balantér is really good at talking and finding out everything you hate about yourself and using it against you to turn you into a sobbing mess so he can get his way.

Thank you for reading!
